Majority of Americans Oppose Creation of Crypto Strategic Reserve: Poll Shows

A recent poll conducted by advocacy group Data for Progress has revealed that the majority of Americans are not in favor of the creation of a cryptocurrency strategic reserve, a proposal that US President Donald Trump has been advocating for since his election in November last year. The survey, which asked 1,169 American voters about their stance on the establishment of a crypto strategic reserve, showed that 51% of respondents oppose the idea, while only 34% expressed support for it.

The proposed crypto strategic reserve is part of Trump’s plan to implement key reforms in the cryptocurrency sector, with the aim of allowing it to thrive. However, the poll results indicate that US voters are not convinced that the government should spend on acquiring and holding cryptocurrencies as part of the country’s national reserve.

The survey also revealed that there is a significant divide among different political affiliations regarding the crypto strategic reserve. While 59% of Democrat voters opposed the creation of the reserve, only 29% supported it. Among independent voters, 56% were against the strategic reserve, while 30% were in favor. Even among Republican voters, there was a split, with 40% opposing the reserve and 41% supporting it.

In terms of federal funding for cryptocurrency and blockchain development, the poll showed that only 10% of voters believe that the US should increase funding in this area. About 45% of respondents wanted to reduce federal funding for digital assets, while 29% believed that the current level of spending should be maintained. Among Democrat voters, 52% wanted to decrease federal funding for digital assets, while 26% wanted to maintain current spending levels. Among Republican voters, 36% wanted to decrease funding, 31% wanted to maintain current levels, and 12% wanted to increase funding.

Overall, the poll results indicate that cryptocurrency is not a top priority for Americans in terms of federal funding, with a majority of voters expressing a desire to reduce spending in this area. The lack of support for the creation of a crypto strategic reserve suggests that US voters are cautious about government investment in cryptocurrencies and prefer less spending in this sector.
