responded with a resounding no, stating, “Not at all. I really like it, and it’s staying for now.”
Gin
In addition to his love for coffee, Bottas has also delved into the world of gin. He recently launched his own gin brand, called ‘274BOTTAS,’ which takes its name from his racing number. Bottas has always been a fan of the spirit and saw an opportunity to create his own unique blend.
“I’ve always been a big gin drinker and I think it’s a cool thing to have your own gin,” Bottas said. “I’ve been tasting different gins for years and working with a distillery to develop my own unique flavor. It’s been a really fun process.”
The gin, which is created in collaboration with a Finnish distillery, features a blend of botanicals that have a personal significance to Bottas. The flavors are inspired by his Finnish roots and his travels around the world.
“I wanted the gin to reflect who I am as a person and where I come from,” Bottas explained. “Each botanical has a story behind it, whether it’s a flavor that reminds me of my childhood or a place I’ve visited during my racing career. It’s a way for me to share a piece of myself with my fans.”
Wine
Bottas’ latest venture outside of racing is his newfound passion for wine. In 2020, he became a co-owner of a winery in Tuscany, Italy, called ‘Bolgheri DOC.’ The winery, located in one of Italy’s most prestigious wine regions, produces high-quality wines that have garnered critical acclaim from experts.
Bottas’ interest in wine began during his time at Mercedes, where he had the opportunity to taste some of the finest wines in the world. Inspired by the craftsmanship and artistry behind winemaking, Bottas decided to pursue this passion further.
“I’ve always been fascinated by the complexity and depth of wine,” Bottas said. “It’s a product that requires years of dedication and expertise to create, and I wanted to be a part of that process.”
As a co-owner of Bolgheri DOC, Bottas is involved in every aspect of the winemaking process, from vineyard management to blending and bottling. He even has his own signature wine, which showcases his preferred style and taste.
“I wanted to create a wine that reflects my personality on and off the track,” Bottas explained. “It’s a bold and elegant wine, just like my driving style. I’m proud to put my name on it.”
The Future of Brand Bottas
With his investments in coffee, gin, and wine, Bottas has built a diverse portfolio outside of racing. These ventures not only showcase his personal interests but also contribute to his overall brand as a multifaceted individual.
“I think it’s important for athletes to have passions and interests outside of their sport,” Bottas said. “It adds depth to who you are as a person and allows you to connect with fans on a different level.”
Looking ahead, Bottas has plans to expand his brand even further. He hopes to collaborate with other companies and individuals who align with his values and share his enthusiasm for quality products.
“I want to continue building ‘Brand Bottas’ in a way that is genuine and authentic,” Bottas stated. “I want people to see that there’s more to me than just racing. I have a love for coffee, gin, wine, and so much more. I want to share that with the world.”
As Bottas continues to make his mark on the Formula One grid, his off-track ventures are becoming an increasingly integral part of his identity. Whether it’s a cup of coffee, a glass of gin, or a bottle of wine, Bottas is proving that he is not just a talented race car driver, but also a passionate entrepreneur with a diverse range of interests.
